The first time I visited John Bruno’s Oak Summit Winery,   “wow . . . had no idea there was such a wonderful place hidden right here in Millbrook”.

Just off route 44, you drive down a rural road, climb through the forest, at the top there is a clearing, the sun streams down on Dutchess Cardigan.  His home sits atop this ravelly loam of rich nutrients and well balanced minerals that feed his vines.    

John loves the pino grape.  Oak Summit’s PINOT NOIR vines are all traditional DIjon clones grafted on American rootstock.  The vines are hand-planted and hand-trained onto a VSP trellis system.  Every year the Bruno’s prune and typically discard at least 30% of the crop to maintain the intensity and character of their wine’s trademarks.  

 Simply the best, nothing less will do.

This unique gourmet experience is a masterful pairing of the best wines and foods of the Hudson Valley.  The Bruno’s serve the freshest, seasonal foods grown or raised in the Hudson Valley.  The luncheon menu is hosted and prepared by the Bruno’s lovely home overlooking their vineyard.  

Oak Summit owners John C D Bruno, CFMP and his wife Nancy Lynn Bruno, SSA also host this grand experience on the third Sunday of each month at Noon, or by appointment.
